Please, James White, in trying to sympathize with Al Mohler’s constituency problems (video link, apx: 33:00)  it doesn’t do any good to lament his problems with “buildings named after slaveholders.”  George Washington was a slaveholder. George Whitefield owned slaves. We can celebrate the end of slavery without detracting from the achievements of those caught up in it.

All of these pastors–TODAY–who won’t sign the statement have congregations full of women who abort their babies and politicians who actively support Planned Parenthood. If a building with Whitefield’s name on it represented some sort of monumental problem, for being associated with past evils, would a present-day association with child-killing not be an even greater problem?

Can we have a LITTLE perspective, please??
